They have been talking up the youngsters in the Aussie A team and reckon 6-7 are on the verge of stepping up, with only a core of seasoned, older players retaining their places. No-one has mentioned the Captaincy yet.
Dave.

A very slick safety video, bluesfan. I enjoyed those performances greatly, nice to see Frank the dog in there!
Dave.

As someone who was there on that Thursday when Australia were all out for 60 before lunch there was a sense of disbelief by both English & Aussie supporters at what they had just witnessed.
Yes, it was a great day for England but all credit to the Aussie supporters; they supported their team whilst it was crumbling & were fulsome in their praise of the England team. They were, as ever, great fun to mix with. |

Glad to hear our supporters were graceful in defeat.

Hi PhilfromOz
I've been watching Test cricket, mainly @ Trent Bridge (Nottingham) for approx 45 years & win, lose or draw the Aussie supporters are 'tops'. Great sense of fun, witty, sociable, knowledgeable about cricket, love the game. Some seem to drink prodigious amounts of lager &/or Aussie wine but, unlike me, they seem able to take it I'd love to join the Barmy Army in Oz but until we have a Star Trek teleport system I doubt I'll make it - even if one is invented I'd need to check first if the operator @ the Oz end wasn't an Aussie batsman from the 2015 Ashes Test series forcibly retired from cricket & now in alternative employment. I mean, would you trust your life to 1 of them? 1 young Aussie supporter near us was leaving messages for her friends back in Oz something like 'It's me. Don't watch the cricket. Don't watch the news. Don't listen to the radio. Don't read the papers. I'm not drunk but I soon will be!' |

G'Day PhilfromOz
Hmm!Taking Lyrica, that sounds vaguely familiar; just checked & what I thought was Pregabalin, which I'm taking, seems also to be called Lyrica I read the lengthy advice/warning notes you seem to get with all drugs nowadays (OK, not with the illegal ones ) and it does say 'For those down under it is advised not to take alcohol' Phew! Thank goodness those of us in the northern hemisphere don't have to worry about that. Anyway when you said 'Enjoy the win, well deserved' I was uncertain whether you meant 'enjoy the win' or 'enjoy the wine' - have assumed you meant both! Cheers! DavidA P.S. as you're off alcohol I hear there are some excellent alcohol-free wines. When you find them please let everyone know P.P.S. Whoops! that should have said let everyone other than me know |
