It may be that your fall triggered something else. Go back to your GP and ask them for a referral to a sleep specialist, a neurosurgeon and physiotherapist. You may have a developed a compression fracture and they can cause all sorts of discomfort including sleep difficulty. I hope you can get some answers and relief soon.

I'm not fond of orthopedic surgeons. One did surgery on my shoulder and managed to damage my brachial plexus, rendering my right arm >50% useless and resulting in RSD and severe pain. I was still working before I trusted that orthopedist, now I've lost my business.
