My husband goes with his pyschologist friend to FREE workshops given by top top psychiatrists. It's not clear to the attendees who is sponsoring the workshops since the name on the materials is not closely related to a company name.
I'm guessing that the top top pyschiatrists are getting paid a fortune to travel to a city and give a 1.5 hour power point presentation.
Mental health professionals attend these workshops to keep their credentials current.

Also, the company often pays meals for all the attendess, even those who are not MDs (any one in mental health or their friends as in the case of my husband.)

No. I've seen the powerpoint notes. The presentor might emphasize the side effect problems from the other companies' meds -- that kind of stuff.
