Sue, that was the sweetest, nicest summary of our group! You are too much. Thanks for inquiring about me. I had a wonderful week in Florida and it has helped my depression some. (I did miss you guys, though!) Now looking at nasty weather again tomorrow, but it was nice to be warm for awhile. My son is on his way from Iraq to Australia for a 2 week R&R.
Cyclelops, your posts are wonderful, informative and inspiring. I was never an athlete at all, but I always loved the outdoors, so I back-packed and camped in college, and my husband and I white-water canoed before kids, and we have always been hikers. The last few months I have been pushing myself to start walking again. We are going to Yellowstone in June and I would love to be able to hike some. I even walked a total of 5 miles one day in Florida (all flat) and paid for it afterwards but boy was it worth it. I am battleing my depression, too, and it is hard work. After reading you posts, I am wondering if I could go to a gym and do some upper body stuff, or work my quads, etc. on a machine without starting up too much pain. I can see now much that having goals and being active helps you mentally, and I sure could use that. Maybe I will give it a shot it I can overcome the inertia this dang depression gives me. Keep on keeping on, you are helping the rest of us so much!
