Cool Down

I wrote the letter hurredly
wanting to get my feelings out
Frustration, Defensive, and Blame
All true feelings, but so intense

Luckily, knowing how dangerous E-mail can be...
I printed it off and sat with it awhile
Cooled down a lot and rewrote my words
Now a kindler, gentler version can be sent

But will it bring the desired effect
Hands reaching inside his heart
To wring out empathy for me and my story
Will it bring about a new start

Maybe I shouldn't have cooled down
And just left my feelings presented raw
would it have hurt or would it have helped
Maybe time will tell
