Thank you all for your input. It made me feel not so alone. The hug was GREAT! Yes I have appealed and also filed a new claim. I keep hearing the word "offset" in my bizarre conversations with the SS represenative .I am going to do some more research as he won't explain in a jargon that I can understand.I called the state of Idaho where my daughter lives last week and the nice woman I spoke with said that my claim was in the payment center in Richmond Calif.
