Hi Debra, Sorry to say, RSD does spread, more often than not. Obviously neither Dr. has experience. I have had RSD for 15 years-now full body and internally. I did go into remission twice for a year each. While in remission, we don't have symptoms. If RSD is spreading, then we are not in remission.
RSDSA is the national organization for RSD. You can put in your zip code and fine local support group or find a Dr. that treats RSD. Many of us have gone to different states for treatment and see a good Dr. and don't regret it at all. In fact, that is how I got diagnosed-traveling to another state. Was 4 years before I got diagnosed.
Obviously, Drs. don't like to be connected to the original cause of RSD, thru either treatment ie surgery or lack of treatment following getting RSD from the surgery.
Hope you can find a good Dr. There are many out there, but most of us have been thru some inexperienced one first.
My excellent Dr. of the last 6 years isn't taking new patients, but just opened two clinics that have HBOT, which is used for RSD-increase circulation.
Take care, loretta
