Default So--

--you are saying that you had the immunofixation electrophoresis, and it came back negative for monoclonal antibodies (and light and heavy protein chains), but your overall immunoglobulins are elevated? That implies polycolonal antibody manufacture, which can mean a lot of things.

Yes, an IgA elevation may imply celiac, or some other gut situation, but not necessarily, as these are also secreted by mucosal membranes. And since elevated IgG implies a response to external pathogens over a long period of time (these are not as fast acting/fast produced as IgM class antibodies), assuming that these are not being produced erroneously (such as by rogue plasma cells) but accurately, there should be a search going on for low level infections, both bacterial and viral . . .have you had any infectious testing, such as a polymerase chain reaction, done?
