mine is listed alphabetically
scroll down to the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) mine is set to started & automatic

while there double check the Windows Installer - mine is set to manual, but you could try setting it to automatic.

to change these double click the name and a pop up will come up and make the changes there.

then reboot and try the cd one more time???

I did exactlfy that, and more. Didn't work.

That's why I brought it back this morning. When something isn't fun anymore, I don't want to do it. That was not fun.

I like a challenge, believe me, but my old computer is about 7 years old, has had more viruses than I care to think about. I spent more time with the Verizon online guys (I bet one of THEM corrupted my Windows Installer!!!)

They were always doing stuff to get rid of viruses.

Anyway, over and done with the adaptor.

But at least I learned about Windows Installer, how important it is, where to find Services, etc.

See? I learned!!!!
