People with PN can have compressive issues. This means the nerves may be more touchy to compression than nonPNers.

I purchased a memory foam wheelchair pad from Overstock.com
that is quite thick. I was having muscle stiffness and aching from sitting at the computer. Now that I am retired, I sit more, and I do work on NeuroTalk for long periods, etc. This pad has been wonderful. Chair height is important for me too, I need to keep my thigh parallel to the floor, for example.

I think PNers have different triggers. So there won't be one answer fits all to a question like this. People with lumbar issues, or piriformis syndrome may have many more symptoms sitting than those with ankle compression, for example.
