If he can pop your neck, it means he can find a problem. Not all neck injuries have pain symptoms. You stiffness in the morning suggests you have a neck injury that needs to be stabilized. Routine pops will not stabilize your neck. You also likely need to work on sleep posture to prevent causing inflammation from your overnight sleep position. That inflammation is causing the stiffness. Any time you have stiffness, ice will always be good.
