This feeling: "I'm sure you’ll understand why it's too late for me because I’ve recently been diagnosed with Parkinson's," is felt by nearly every Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis patient but much more is known about Parkinson's and there are treatments (such as Levodopa and deep brain stimulation): yet how valid is this sensation . . . have you ever read an historical review of any treatment discovery showing why the critical finding was made when it was made rather than at some other time? I believe we should not allow ourselves to believe there is no hope tomorrow a critical discovery will be made because predicting when research achievements will occur is more difficult than predicting the survival of an Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis patient.
