New treatments to be subject of discussion
Reid program on ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease; support group meets monthly in Richmond Members of the area's ALS-Lou Gehrig's disease support group are eager to hear from a speaker coming to Reid Hospital this week. Dr. Robert M. Pascuzzi, neurology department chairman at the Indiana University School of Medicine, will talk about new treatments for ALS, also known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, during Grand Rounds at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at Reid Hospital, 1401 Chester Blvd., in Richmond. The support group also welcomes new members at is regular meetings, which are at 6:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month at First English Lutheran Church, 2727 E. Main St. in Richmond. For more information about ALS, contact Becca Shilling, a social worker with the ALS Association's Indiana chapter who attends each support group meeting, at (888) 508-3232.
