Post Spreading love to the unfortunate

SPREADING LOVE TO THE UNFORTUNATE
Make Sure Your Money Makes a Difference

While Valentine’s Day is past us and new holiday to celebrate just around the corner, people all over the world are perhaps still living with the remaining taste of love and absorbed with Valentine’s cards, flowers, confectioneries and other gifts. Such luxury things are out of the question to families whose lives are dependant on others for survival. Life is hustling as usual and people in need still continue to struggle with their daily lives, putting special Holidays aside. Tough economic times make providing for basic human needs next to impossible.

Among other charity institutions, Calendar for a Cause (known as CFAC) is making a determined call for donations to persons in need of humanity assistance. The number of people on the CFAC website is increasing day by day while the amount of donations worldwide is declining at an alarming rate - especially in the early months of the New Year. A lack of funds poses a serious threat to those with critical needs.

CFAC aspires to serve as a bridge to connect those unfortunate individuals to philanthropists willing to give a hand to help the community.

Fundraising activities on CFAC website has been a big success in the final months of last year especially near the Holiday season. Holiday giving was memorable and valuable to the recipients, a gift that warmed hearts and gave hope.

Like the case of Ellen, suffering from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), she it takes great effort to move, to speak, to breathe or to eat without machines. Ellen and her family do not receive any financial assistance from Social Security or Insurance for day-to-day care, and Ellen’s daily care costs run a minimum of $500. Ellen is totally dependent on others for even her most basic needs.

While CFAC has helped Ellen raise over $14,000, the total falls short by over $160,000. It seems that getting 365 people to donate $500 would be an easy task, evidently the Internet it not as big or as easy as that. So how about 160,000 people donating $1? Note that if you plan to give one dollar, best to send it directly to Ellen. If you donate online, credit card and transaction fees take up a large portions of the first dollar donated.

On the other hand, there’re many people who need our community’s help during certain times of the year, not just during the holiday seasons. And Ellen is just one among many in desperate need for kind assistance. CFAC is determining to go the distance to follow its cause and find ways to bring hope.

Calendar for a Cause helps connect individuals and organizations with the generosity of others in the fight for poverty, hunger, and homelessness in our community. Every donation, small or big, is always of significant meaning to those people in need. It saves their lives. Let’s go to CFAC website at www.calendarforacause.com. Make a contribution today and make a difference for our Community tomorrow!

About Ellen
A witty smart A-Type person, Ellen was unfortunately suffering from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) that robbed her of the ability to move, to speak, to breathe and to eat without machines. The little income that she and her family receive does not at all cover her daily care or the basic living expenses. But Ellen’s will is strong and her determination is to live to see the cure; to be there as her two young children grow up; to prove that miracles do happen!

Visit Ellen’s calendar at www.calendarforacause.com/ellen/ for more information.
