Piece By Piece
![]() Posted: 12:51 PM Mar 3, 2009 Last Updated: 12:54 PM Mar 3, 2009 Reporter: Amy Long Email Address: amy.long@wctv.tv video [IMG] ![]() There are about 150 mannequins standing outside the capitol and none of them have arms or legs. The piece by piece tribute display is meant to spread the word that Lou Gehrig's Disease is stealing loved ones piece by piece. Lou Gehrig's disease is a motor neuron disease that effects the neurons that carry messages from your brain to your spinal chord ultimately leaving victims paralyzed, with only two to five years to live. This display travels throughout Florida but officials say they made a stop in Tallahassee this week for a reason. Kamden Kuhn with the ALS Association says, "We want law makers to know that we are here, we want lawmakers to know that these patients exist so that they can then enact laws that will make a difference in their lives" Officials say Lou Gehrig's disease has no cure and hope the campaign will bring awareness.
