Default Neurospychological testing after subarchnoid hemorrhage

Has anyone undergone a neuropsychological evaluation following a subarchnoid hemorrhage (endovascular coiling of the right posterior communicating artery). If so, was it helpful and how long following your surgery before you were evaluated. thanks.

Welcome to NT Lamb Chops. I love your user name, lol.

I hope you'll get some answers for this and maybe make some friends here in the process. Take care.

Hi Wiz,
Hey, thanks for the warm welcome. I appreciate it. I am hopeful to get some answers and maybe hear from others who had this evaluation. This whole aneurysm situation is something new and kind of scarey to me.
Thanks again,
Lamb chops

Hi I just had one of those evaluations today. OMG. It totally stressed me out. I felt soooo stupid when I was done. They told me it would be 3 weeks and they would send me and the ns the results.

Hi Cheri, Thank you so much for your reply and I am sorry you had a bad experience. Hope you are doing better today. I don't want to pry or make things worse for you, but, could you give me a little more detail of the evaluation? I didn't know anything like this existed until 2 days ago when my doctor ordered one. It will be 3 months before I can get my evaluation appointment...thinking about going to a larger city so I can complete it sooner.
Take care,

Well for starters they say a list of 10-15 words for you to remember. Then they ask you all the words they said. It's just to see how fast you remember or how many you can remember out of all those words. They put me on a computer and there was a list of numbers. Five or six numbers together. Then you look at the numbers and the screen goes black. 10-15 seconds later they pop up on the screen with another list of numbers and you have to remember which set of numbers you saw. And you build things out of blocks and do math and word problems just to see how well you can concentrate. Then it just gets harder and harder to concentrate and remember things because all the tests takes about 4 hours. It was just really stressful for me because of my short term memory and lack of concentration. It may not be as bad for others. I do hope it all goes well for you.
