Default Hello Im New

Hello Everyone
I posted a quick question a little while ago and Beachgirl was kind enough to answer!
I'm 43. I had a ruptured right cerebral aneurysm behind my eye Aug 7 2009.I had headaches for about a month, docs told me a sinus headache. I took myself to the ER the 6th they did a CT and saw nothing. I felt so bad. The next day I felt really sick and I felt a pop, in my head, I told my kids I had to go again I'd be back. I was lucky enough that this time a doctor thought he saw something and sent me for a second one saw the bleed and had me sent to a trauma hospital right away.I had it clipped and coiled. Long story short. Here I am today. Blessed to be alive with my kids. Recovery seems long as I tried going back to work full time but headache, dizziness, and fatigue are still a factor. I find many people don't understand as I look fine but I do have memory issues as well. I find that I get very frustrated with myself because I feel like I should be able to do more. Does anyone else feel this way? Great to be here! Look forward to meeting everyone!
Peace,
Stacey

Hi Stacey, it's me again. I seem to be the only one coming here. What you are feeling is completely normal! Sooooo many people feel as you do. It's a common problem - you look fine, but it's really a case of "don't judge a book by its cover"! People can't see that the brain is hurt, so can't quite grasp that we may be struggling. Plus there is the emotional component - facing your mortality can be really confronting! Be gentle and kind to yourself - your brain will heal in its own time, and it seems that the more you try to force and hurry up the healing process all you seem to do is tire the body and the brain out and can even set back recovery if you push too hard.
Fatigue is a normal and very common part of this annie journey - people have been poking around up there in your head - that's not supposed to happen, and the brain takes some time to recover from that. It's still early days, it will get better in time - remember, little baby steps.
I'm sorry, this is really just a variation of what I said to you in the other thread.

Hugs to you,

Nat xx

Default Hi

Hi. Its been awhile since Ive posted. I am feeling much better. I am hoping that someone can help with a few questions. After all this is the prognosis usually positive? People say to me, hey I know so and so and they died 3 years after their aneurysm. I just started to feel good again and now I hear this or people say hey dont die on me. Any wonder why I go from feeling great to paranoid? Does this happen to anyone else? I am so lucky to really not have many issues. Some short term mem loss, headaches which of course the meds Im taking are making my hair fall out and still can get tired easy and I cant push myself too hard but overall I feel great. Any one out there?

hey stacie - my husband had 2 ruptured aneurysms in dec. 09 - he had to have craniotomy (spelling) and clipping. he is doing so great also. he has some s/t memory issues, some headaches and extreme fatigue. he looks like he feels great to the world, but to me, as his wife of 33 yrs, i can tell when he is not feeling well. everyone tells us that it just takes time to heal. we also hear all of the horror stories, etc. not quite sure why people feel the need to share those. but it does cause some worry for me and my husband when we hear that. just wanted to tell you that you are doing great ! we are still in recovery mode too and understand what you are going through. i wish you well and hope you continue to recover !!!
