My doctor told me that instead of getting some other disease I got anxiety- and it is absolutely the strangest thing I have ever dealt with- mostly I think because we don't realize how powerful how minds are, and we don't have a clue to all of the factors that can impact our mental thinking and physical well-being (or not!) My biggest problem is irrational thinking when I get caught up in anxious moments or panic attacks. If you can talk yourself down, or use medication to help you control your symptoms and your fear of those guys in the white coats coming, perhaps you can find your way out of this jungle. Take a deep breath, or a 1000, and hang on until you get to your doc- sending good, supportive thoughts your way. Julie

I found walking around, even around my house, often helps with my anxiety. I have at times, got my husband out of bed at 3am to go outside for a walk. Meditation and yoga also help me.

Thanks for your replies...im just tryin to deal i guess..im alright at the moment, sometimes it gets hard to get rid of the negative thought patters, but ill try the tips you gave me...

Hi Frankie!!
Welcome to NT!!! I understand about anxiety... I live it 24/7. I stay in my room in the dark many days in a row. Today I "HAD" to go to the grocery. It was extremely hard, difficult breathing, sweating, etc... Please feel free to roam around and join in anywhere!! You will find there are many, many caring and sincere people here!!! Feel free to ask questions when you need... help others where you can... also feel free to vent if you need to---we understand. I hope to see you around the board!! ![]() Abbie

Welcome to NT Anxiety is just that. It's okay to feel bad for a short moment. Just don't let it comsume the rest of you. The power of the mind is amazing. Tap into it. You're not alone. Make a list, mentally or on paper, about the positive things in your life. Concentrate on that list, recall the good things often. We none like the negative effects of anxiety. I really can't think of anything good about it. I certainly could do without the exhausting drama of it all, couldn't you? Let's try to stay positive. ![]()
