What a great post Jungle! Thanks for sharing. You know I had a horrific first birth in a hospital. And I get that not everyone does, but I DID. So for my next I had a homebirth and Paulette was there, young single, I think she was about 19 years old. This set up a domino reaction as she went on to have her first and subsequent babies at home. And through her girlfriends have gone on to choose home birth. Every baby I have had subsequently I ensured I invited as support a young single woman with the intention of exposing her to a homebirth situation. Each of them have gone on to have their babies at home.

Does your mum still shake her head?

Amanda,
Do you mind if I reprint the information you have posted in the birth magazine that I publish. It goes out to the homebirth women of my region, and to women thinking about planning to birth at home. I can alter names if you like.

I have no problem with you posting my stuff in a magazine

No need to change names. Id like the people involved in my births to get credit or criticism-- whichever is due! LOL!

Let me know if you need more info
