Vowel Lady, I am glad your bad cold episode has gotten better. Yes, that was a good idea with the humidifier.
I take " Aairborne" ( high dose Vit C) for the same situations you mentioned. Methyl B 12 and D3 5000 mg. You mentioned you just had started to develope neuropathy in your feet. I hope it does not develope any where else. For neuropathy ( and I have severe small fiber) my rheumatologist prescribes a compound cream for me it is 10 % Lidocane, 10 % Gabapentin and 5 % Ketamin. I put it on feet and wrists. Regarding joint pain, I got a e mail from my doctor, saying she thinks I might have Rheumatoid Arthritis. I took some E Rays, they showed degenerative joint disease. So I do not know yet, I will see her soon I had fast developing vision loss just now in the last 3 4 weeks, saw neuro/opt. they are saying fast growing cataracks, But my sight has improved the last few days, so now I can see the computerscreen, which I could not 1 week ago. So it makes me wonder, in regards to all the autoimmune issues. I have apt Thursday for further discussions. It seems like this thread has gotten off topic, so let me bring it back to the origional issue: The issue with receiding gums remains the same for me, so I will have some oral periodontal surgery. It just goes to show that autoimmune conditions can bring a person through so many different issues. all the best to everybody that is reading this, and thanks for listening. Vowel Lady, Keep those joint pain away, and treat your feet real nice. ( that Kerasal cream is good, I have used in the past for heels etc. but be careful if you have open skin or diabetes, because that cream has Acetecylic Acid in it) I have foun a realy nice pampering lotion that is nonprescription. It is called "Dry Heel Eliminator", and anothet one called "Heel to Toe" Spa Pedicure Collection. You can get them at Sally's Beauty Products. WE ALL DISERVE A TRIP TO SALLY'severy now and then. I hope your dental/gum procedure goes well Synnove. If you have an idea what caused it and are willing to talk a little about it, please let us know. No doubt the autoimmune stuff played some role.
I too am having all sorts of weird health problems. Now they say I might have IC, a painful bladder condition. And apparently it was on the Sjo. syndrome website that those with this autoimmune condition are slightly more prone to it. WTH? I now agree with the SS Society that there is huge misconception out there even among doctors who should know better that Sjogrens Syndrome is only about dry eyes and dry mouth. I read constantly about health conditions and one time we had a painter in the house and he mistook me for a medical doctor. I just laughed. It was the medical type books everywhere! These days I feel like saying....I'm just covering my you know what cause I'm tired of doctors who know so little of my condition (s) and don't even have the decently to refer me if they don't know something or even look it up ANYTHInG that would help. Very sorry to hear about you possibly having arthritis. So painful. There is lots of discussion out there about staying away from sugar! I find that I crave it when I'm in pain. And my husband is a sugarholic. Ugh. But, I think I'm noticing slightly less overall pain when I manage to stay away from it for several days in a row. |

Vowel Lady.
Hi again. First, regarding dental stuff: Yes, I am pretty sure it has been some aoutoimmune things causing the receiding gums. I have a very good dentist, and I seee him regularly. He has helped me a lot, and my teeth actually looks good now except for I need some better whitening stuff. This dentist works hand in hand with the periodental doc nex door to his office, so the two of them are planning a little procedure to fix/protect an area of receiding gum. I am only trying to find time for it. Wovel Lady. I am sorry to hear about you diagnosis of IC. Do they think this is related to your autoimmune disorders?? I have something similar, but I do not know if it is the same thing. I had problems with urgency, frequency and unable to empty bladder completely.I had a lot of pain in the urethra, and I had frewuent UTI. I have been seeing a realy good urologist for the last couple of years. She performed a cystoscopy and a Urodynamic Testing. She diagnosed something like Neurogenic bladder. I think this was all related to the Peripheral Neuropathy that I have. The urologist put me on a medication called Enablex, and it has helped. WovelLady, may I ask or suggest: have you had tests for Small Fiber Neuropathy, and Autonomic Neuropathy? It is the autonomic nervous system that regulates some of the bladder functions. A neurologist told me that with Sjogren, one can have much neuropathy. I have not been diagnosed with Lupus or Sjoegren, but other autoimmune disorder such aso inflamatory arthritis, possible rheumatoid arthritis, and vasculitis, causing neuropathy. The neuropathy is affecting me everywhere. I also have sugar cravings. I have always had a "sweet tooth". But I know, absolutely that high bloodsugar effects the nervous system right away, and can cause further nerve damage. But I am not always so strong, and yesterday, my husband gave me a box of chocolatr( he has always done so) and I had it all eaten up by the end of the day. So, what are we to do?? Perhaps I should have eaten some vegies instead!! I hope you stay well, do not get any more symptoms. Best wishes Synnove |
