Default Recurring Hyperthyroidism???

It is very hard to find info about Graves disease. I had a partial thyroidectomy about 12 years ago and am now showing symptoms of hyperactive thyroid. I have had blood work done. Unfortunetly things seem to take forever to get done here. So what I am wondering is it possible that the thyroid is overactive again? With my reading I have also noted that even with the thyroid issues dealt with you still have Graves disease and am wondering what else can come about with this disease? I have been told by a doctor that I no longer have Graves because the thyroid was normal at the time of the bloodwork. The doctors around here are not very informed on Graves and am searching for my own info and advice.
