I am on the eighteenth floor and noise travels up....creepy silence bothers me more....can you tell the management about your neighbors not closing their door...that would drive me insane....and i like football....
the convenience of walking outside when I do go out and having a store right there is unbeatable. My friend moved to Kanab Utah...and has acres and acres of uninhabited land surrounding her and her husband and nine animals...dogs and kitty cats....I would sleep with a gun in my hand...if I didn't install a ten feet tall electric barbed wire fence.

Talking

I'm in Manhattan and the off ramp from I-95 goes right under my window.

There is a sharp curve and the sound of squeeling breaks is not uncommon. Neither is the sound of the police who have stopped drivers on the highway and directed them to pull off onto my street to get their comuppins.

The po-po like to use their loudspeaker (at all hours) to offer friendly hints to wayward motorists of which direction to steer their vehicles.

So one night early in our relationship my wife and I are discussing her moving into the apartment and where things were 'going' for us as a couple.

Just then we heard the loudspeaker, "You can only go ONE way, YOU CAN ONLY GO ONE WAY!!!"

Dear Bobby,

I can't call the management because they will know it is me.
I almost called the cops on NYs Eve, but sticking my head out the door (no words) and letting one of the parents see me was enough to stop the fireworks in the stairwell.

When we first moved in, I spoke a few minutes with the couple. I asked if they liked the complex. The husband said that oh yes, it is very quiet here.

Yeah! For him! He (and his three kids and their friends) is the source of the most noise.

See, Utah sounds good to me....except for maybe the snow....
And the driving long distances to go anywhere.....

I could handle feeling safe and being far away from civilization because that is how I was raised. My father alway put us far away from the navy and air bases. We lived in the middle of the country at each stop of his career....Raised hogs, steers, chickens, had a pet goat one time.........Mom kept us busy in her big veggie gardens.........part of his control thing perhaps.

I like having 24 hour pharmacies near me.

Mari

I think maybe the thing is when they are quiet you need to make
sure there is noise in your apartment so they can't sleep.

Maybe give them some of the same treatment.

Hi Mari,

The residents here are not suppose to have dogs but some do. There are only 4 apartments to a building and I never hear dogs in near my building.

Hi,
We have 12 units sharing one stairwell -- 3 floors with 4 apts on each floor.

People move in and out. We've been here a short time and have seen moves in the building.

This is what happens when one lives in crowded S. FL.
Even Fisher Island, which is accessible only by private ferry (no bridges ) is crowded and people their have dogs and kids, noisy sports cars,.....

Default distressed cat

Tonight a female cat has been making a horrible sound outside.
I hope she resolves her issues soon.

I wonder what is going on that noise distressed me.

It's not like I am a quiet person.

Mari

I hope the cat got quieter and it was okay.

I know that kind of problem is even more disturbing.
