Smile heron sighting

my mom glimpsed our first heron from the bus on the way back from the city yesterday. there is an overpass / exchange that has these grassy basins carved in... and in the fall we get some white and grey heron migrate up? down? our way... and hang out it in these basins and in some of the fields.

can't see them real well from the bus, but well enough.

they are cool to watch. slow, graceful, elegant birds.

(sorry Mari... birds again. not your favorites, i know. )
