I had been in the hospital for 2 weeks. I'm home, and feeling a little isolated. I hope that I feel better through the transition. So far it's hard for me to move around because of my lack of energy, and depression.
My NP's was suppose to see me tomorrow, but her office staff called, and said that they cannot see me till next week. BF |

We have a program in our area, part of the helpline, that makes a phone contact to isolated individules as a contact. Perhaps you may start by being a person they contact, and then later return the service and become a contact to some one else. It is baby steps. It is having a bigger self image then the one you are allowing yourself. If there is a day program, maybe just start one day a week going, make yourself even if you go in casual clothes and for companionship. Lots of support coming your way in cyber life, di

Glad you're home BF. Hang in there, did you make plans to move? Like when your housing comes through? I hope you can get in a situation where you're not so stressed...Try to take it easy if you can and chillax a bit. You've been through a lot.

Especially the chillax. Pam, what a cool word! It sounds like a chillout potion in a bottle... like borax, but for chilling instead of brightening. i've been getting a bit whacky lately. exsqueeze me. ah baking powder. i better get me some chillax. Steve, What are the things that you like about being home? About where you live? My thought is to try to focus on those things if you can. Try to feel connected with your physical surroundings, even though there isn't a social aspect to it. Do you like plants, animals? Can you sit just outside your door - just to be outside, and observe nature? I think feeling connected to nature can help us - if i can get myself out into nature, it does wonders for me, anyway. Plants and animals all have a way of always choosing life, creating beauty in some way. Are the trees in your area changing colors yet? Anyway, welcome home, Steve! Welcome back to your cyber-home too! And you be talking to us now, you hear? ~ waves ~ |

Hi BF,
It's nice to have you back. I know you're feeling a little apprehensive - but if you survived two weeks of hospital food you're way tougher than you think! |

Dear Friend,
There is a little bit of trauma from being in the hospital like that. You will need to recover. (I'm serious.) Take your time. Be patient. Start moving again. M. |

Welcome home BF. Yes, understand how isolating and depressing the house can seem after you've been away so long with people around whenever you felt the need to see them.
Forgive me for asking this, but as I am not familiar with you yet - do you live on your own? Health professionals can be so callous when it comes to feeling for the mentally unwell. Next week? In our concept of time that would be forever. Hang on and write to us. Every half hour if you need to, I guess somebody or the other will always be here. Isn't there a local group activity that you can attend?
