I'm working on my sinus infection. Hopefully it will start sounding better soon.

I really hate it when I have a cough.

I took my granddaughter's, daughter in law and Derrick shopping today. We
had a great day.

rofl yes i was quite a mother hen last night lol... sorry. heheh. But Bizi neglects to mention what i told her TO eat... i.e. POTATO for readily digestible calories and to balance out all the sodium from the broth!!!

I am glad you are doing somewhat better sweetie. chicken soup is fine. and toast is fine too. fats if not excessive are less problematic than fiber actually... basically anything that slows intestinal transit will slow the clearing of the infection... so the more you indulge... the longer you'll have to put up with the discomfort. but if you are hungry starving yourself is no good either.

the house is 70 and its 40 outside but I feel chilled to the bone. I have 2 pairs of socks on long underwear and scrubs, turtle neck with a shirt over that still cold, may have to turn up the heat and put a coat on.
i was freezing last night so I took a hot shower used all of the hot water and got out and into bed right away and slept fine.
I am the biggest whimp!!!!!!
no snow and above freezing temps, I have nothing to complain about when half the country(half the world for that matter) is having real winter conditions.
well, if it makes you feel any better, our indoor temperature is about 70F with the heat on too. still i am wearing sweatpants, a longsleeved cotton top with a pile pajama top, thick socks... and in the morning i am cold and often wrap my (thick acrylic) plaid/blanket around me till i get at least half a cup of hot coffee down the gullet.

but are you usually this cold, or...? have you checked your temp? i'm wondering if you are running a slight fever or in any case if this feeling chilled could have to do with your GI sickness. hmmmmm... *ponder.

MMMMM YEAH! i would too... we don't have any though. also just hit mid-cycle so now alcohol can trigger a migraine - i will chance it for a little bubbly on New Years, but tonight i declined wine at dinner coz i have to go out with my dad tomorrow, so really cannot chance it.

I hope you keep feeling better, Bizi. check your temp. and HAVE SOME POTATO!!!

dear waves, thank you for caring!
you mentioned somewhere that you air out the house.....do you mean open all the windows to let fresh air in even with these temperatures?
just curious....

Dear Bizi,

you bet! daily unless it rains all day or something. we open all the windows and inside doors and the bathroom vent to cause a current by suction. the living room windows we open at a slant to protect the plants from direct hit from outside air. we turn off the heat coz its a waste. wrap up real well, wait 5-15 minutes (depending on tolerability LOL!) .... then shut everything and turn heat back on!

yes... it is BRRRRRRRR!!!! but it is necessary to air out a home. keeps it cleaner and less likely people will get sick.

i think probably in colder temperatures people find other ways (like air purifiers or whatever) to improve the quality of the air. i don't know. We don't open up if it gets after 5 pm coz at that point my mom says the air is - even where we are - somewhat tainted from people running their heat higher (exhaust from gas furnaces) all day.

Dear Bizi,
How are you feeling?
Waves gave you some good advice.

Dear Waves,
I think I have read that it is good to air out a home because the air in the home often has more toxins than the air outside.
Also, our homes are more sealed up than homes were in the past.
I occasionally air out my place but I do it when hubby is not around and I have not done it lately. I will do it again now that you brought this up.
Thank you.

M.

Heart thoughts for Donna...

Dear Donna,

glad you had a good time shopping with the "kids" in spite of your sinus stuff.

coughs are really nasty miserable things, aren't they. i hope that infection clears up soon and takes its cough with it, quick!

Hi all,
I believe I hit a new record. I am not sure I slept at all last night.

I would go from one extreme to the other. Not coughing, but just
not being able to sleep. To coughing up a storm and not sleeping.

I am headed to see if I need a change of antibiotics this morning.

I don't believe the one I'm taking is working.

i have no idea. where i grew up there was no ac and heat was not needed... so opening all the windows was mandatory just so as not to suffocate.

CO especially. but the housing regulations here have a mandatory vent for those with gas furnaces. that thing stays open 24/7 365/6 days year.

that's great, Bizi! Now you can at least chow on whatever you like (and drink whatever you like) for New Year's ... even if you are not going out on the town...
