Checking In...

Hey all...

I'm sitting here when I should be finishing an assignment for my Computer class.... But I am in the most severe pain that I have felt in ages. I can barely move my right leg...yesterday something POPPED and now even my pain medicine is not easing the pain.

But all in all, I am doing pretty good. Mania helps when you're running behind on classwork!!!! In fact it ended up putting me a whole week ahead in all of my classes, which was a good thing because I ended up with a week of migraines. So, now I'm back to even.

Classes are going well.... at least I'm passing everything. I'm not complaining. I just wish my favorite class had better grades but the instructor has timed tests and I barely finish before the time runs out so I have no chance to go back and check my answers as I do in the other classes. I'm running a 71% in that class....should be higher but it seems that I can't remember what I just read in the book before taking a quiz.

Everything else I'm running 79% or higher... I think. I haven't checked my percentages in a week or so.

I'm sorry I'm not around more but I think of you all very often and hold you in my heart!!!

Hugs,

Hey there!

Abbie!

It is wonderful to hear from you and to know that you are getting on so well in school! :yahoo: :)

I am so so in awe of you for doing this!

I know what you mean that mania (or more hypomania) can really help be productive as long as the focus doesn't stray. I learned to "use" that trick when I was working... would get ahead and not advertise so that when I cycled down I could chip away at a slower pace and still not fall behind.

I am sorry that the test conditions in your favorite class don't allow you to get the results you should be seeing. Is it possible to request accommodations? Myabe the instructor would allow you a little extra time?

Anyway, great job and keep up the good work!

I think of you too. :) Thanks so much for popping in with the update. I hope that whatever "popped" settles down so that your pain quiets down too.:hug:

Keep taking care.

Abbie

Please ask for accommodations if you need them. They will give
them. I know that branch very well.

And please if the knee doesn't get better get it checked.

Thanks Donna! :) Both for the information to Abbie and for making me realize I misspelled "accommodation" (and it wasn't a typo). :o ;)

No Problem Waves

I was going to post exactly as you had.

So it was really easy.

Bizi..... I am studying Information Systems Security aka Cyber Security. But this semester I am studying History 101, English 111 (Writing), Computer Math, Computer Operating Systems/Programming.

My Computer Math class prereq was English not math....it is the hardest class!!!! I haven't had math since my Freshman year in high school!!!! But I am holding my own...what I don't know, I figure out by going to YouTube or KhanAcadamy. Last I knew I had a 78% in this class....not bad for not doing more than basic math in more than 30 years.

All of my classes, homework, quizzes, and tests are online.

I never set foot in the school except for scheduling my next semester classes and picking up my books though I could schedule my classes online and have my books shipped to my house.

Therefore the timed tests are already set and I can not get the time extended or reset.

I could have had them extended had I known that I had to submit proof of my disabilities--ie...anxiety and migraines... with papers from my doctors before the beginning of the semester but I did not know that was an option.

Abbie

Hopefully you can do that for the future. In case you run across something
that needs a accommodation again.
