She will be in the cast type thing. For at least 5 weeks.

I know personally that she would be better off in a nursing home.
But I don't think she or my sisters will agree to do this.

Heart Happy NEws

My husband has a temporary at least 2 month job with the union.

He will be working 12 hour shifts, and it could be 7 days a week.

So it will be good.

Donna, you realize that most of the rehab places feel like nursing homes.
Have you looked at any of them?
We have nursing homes that offer rehab here there is only one place in town that I know of that is actually just a rehab hospital. no long term care.
you live in a much bigger town so there have to be more options for you guys.

Bizi
Yes, I know that. She was in a place last year that had both.

The rehab section didn't have room for her when she was moved
from the hospital. And when there was room, she didn't like the
rooms as well.

I really wish we could talk her into moving for a while. But so
far its still been a no.

Wow, Derrick had a $ 25.00 gift certificat for Cracker Barrel. He bought
dinner for My mom and himself and my sister, and I paid for me and
my brother-in-law.
It was so neat listening to everyone thanking him for buying dinner.
Two of my sister's take turn cooking my mom dinner. And the church
brings dinner one night a week.

So it was a nice treat for them. And my sister who wasn't here.
He asked her to go out one day and get at least a desert one day.
And he explained he was buying. It tickled her.

Its been nice watching and knowing that her son and daughter are
helping with full-time jobs. They try to stay up at least one or
two nights a week.

My other two nephews are just like their mother. Not really wanting
to stay. But my niece kind of shamed them last week into taking
a night each.

Derrick helps during the day. He can't be asked to help during the
night because of his seizures.

Default Update: Derrick's Surgery, Mom's Scare

First my mom has had a really swollen leg. The one that is broken ankle or
foot. I was really concerned, but no one else seemed to think it was that bad. But the nurse that came on Friday said something. And then on Saturday my mother decided it might be a problem. But the nurse on call wasn't given the call. And they called the doctor, and he would have seen her on Sunday morning but my mother really wanted to go to church. So she waited till this morning.

The doctor did a special test, Sorry I can't remember what my sister called it.
Because he thought it was a blood clot, but all the veins but one, which he
believes is just in a area of the leg that is so swollen that they can't see it.
So they put her back in a gel cast. For at least a week, and then it will
be her decision to stay in this or go to the other boot which is kind of very
heavy and wasn't staying together good.

So that is her news.

Derrick has his VNS replaced Wednesday Morning. So we are waiting patiently
for that. But I can say I was getting very scared when I could not reach
my mom on the phone. About her being in the hospital and me needing
to be two places.

Today is my birthday, I had a great day.
