As you all know this is new to me, how do you know when a manic period is starting? I am starting to do strange things (I think) and hearing things again. I am seeing my psych nurse tomrrow and keep wondering if I am just dreaming it up or its really happening.
Help!

Hi,
For me it is talking fast, interrupting people, feeling anxious..... If you notice strange things, then you are noticing things you need to let the psych nurse know about. Mari |

For me I have a feeling of ephoria sp?, or a feeling on top of the world and have lots of energy out of the norm. Not sleeping when I should be normally wanting to sleep.

Thanks everyone so far. Basically the last couple of days I have noticed that I have been trying to relax but can't. I could be watching TV on the couch and suddenly my insides are in an uproar. My sleeping is been really bad the last two nights. Basically I feel very unsettled on the inside. Normally I am able to take a nap in the afternoon but the last few days sleep has been elusive. I also have FM so the sleep is very wanted.
When it comes to the meds they help but I only take my depakote twice a day. I had to take it early the last couple of mornings because I suddenly woke up and couldn't settle back down to rest. Lately I have been waiting for a package that I feel should have been here last week and I keep going to the post office and checking for it. I know that it is starting to become manic but I needed people who are "in the know" instead of asking my husband who really isn't knowledgable about BP.

I can't take tylenol PM because the sleep aid in it is the major ingredient in sudafed and I have high blood pressure and can't take it.
The depakote along with my buspar and my blood pressure meds that I take in the AM seem to help when I feel like this in the AM. Other times when I feel that way I take an extra buspar and that seems to help. Thanks for the suggestion though.
