Default Feeling like giving up

I've been having difficulty with my ECT lately as I've posted a few days ago. Now they are messing with my meds again because I've been feeling suicidal again. I recently finished coming off my seroquel and maybe it was a mistake. I just couldn't work with all the meds I was taking and seroquel is so sedating.

I honestly am so very tired of struggling with this and constantly fighting my way through each day. I just want to give up. I don't want to do this anymore.

Thank you for letting me vent/post this...

Dear Debbie,

i am sorry you are going through this. do you see a counselor or therapist as well as the doctor(s)?

i want to let you know of another forum here that you might also want to participate in, or read...

Survivors of Suicide Forum

these are all folks who have in some way been touched by suicide - some have attempted and survived, some might be struggling with thoughts of suicide, some have survived the loss of a loved one to suicide... etc.

also here is a good online resource: www.metanoia.org

Thank you both so much for your posts. Right now I take Lithium and Elevil. Plus I do ECT every two weeks. I used to take about 5 different meds but since November I've been slowly weaned off them and switched to what I'm on now. My medication psychiatrist just raised my Elevil as I'm on a fairly low dose. I'm really hoping that will help.

Debbie

Good luck with the raising of the elevil.

I don't know much about ECT, but I sure hope it helps you.

Dear Debbie

I too hope the increase in the Elavil is helpful and that you feel better soon.

Alas, we are all familiar with the medication merry-go-round... sigh. the important thing is finding a combination that works. different things might work at different times, too.

try to just take 5 minutes at a time.

lithium doesn't help with the depression at all...so I would like to suggest that you consider getting back on an anti depressant.
You are suffering so

Bizi lots of meds are used for lots of things. often the dosage varies depending on what it is needed for. Seroquel is used for sleep too, for example.

Debbie said they are changing her meds because she is suicidal, and then mentions raising the Elavil and hoping that will help - i kinda connected the two things...

Debbie can you confirm or correct me if i have misunderstood?

how are you doing?

hugs to both of you
