Derrick's dilantin level is still slightly high so another level was done
todya. Waves, good thing we were thinking alike and I didn't start him on time on the dilantin. I hate to think what the level would have been if I had. It was 20.9. Just having gone down about 4 more points. I'm going to be interested to see what it went down this time. Also this is a great doctor. Derrick had a appointment set in 3 weeks, but that wasn't good enough, he has to see Derrick in 2 weeks, because of the dilantin. I'm pretty pleased with him. Donna |

Dear Donna
i am glad that Derrick has a responsive doctor who is keeping tabs on him during this time. i also hope he can find a dose where the Dilantin is adequate and remains at a stable level, if it was helping him. some people turn out to be inconsistent metabolizers and when that is the case it is very hard to manage and sometimes has to be d/c'd. not only because of the need to keep a therapeutic-and-non-toxic level, but also because it can make it impossible to manage coadjuvant medications because the changing level can affect levels of many, many other meds. anyway, this doc does sound good... i am sure he will figure things out and get Derrick in a good place again, by hook or by crook. ~ waves ~ |
