WE had a lovely evening ....over a hundred children!
I'll post some pictures in the photos thread when hubby uploads them.
We gave out smarties and gum and dumb dumb suckers and real looking spiders!

these are similar looking to the kinds of cookies we get in october-november... for the Day of the Dead (today, Nov 2, All Souls Day). they call them the Bones of the Dead. i've had variations with/without
-- almonds
-- pine nuts
-- raisins

all seem to have cinnamon and be liberally dusted with powdered sugar (perhaps to make them white, like bones? )

we don't have any right now... i wonder if mom will bring some home.....

Etymology of Halloween.... did you know....?
