Default web site for happy news: happynews.com

Hi,

Potential news-type triggers.

Bizi found this site a while ago.
It only has happy news:

http://www.happynews.com/
http://www.happynews.com/news/102720...m-cleaners.htm

Here is an example: Beach Garbage Recycled as Vacuum Cleaners

OCTOBER 27, 2010
Electrolux
Quote:
Electrolux just launched its “Vac from the sea” initiative to get plastic waste out of the world’s oceans and into home appliances made of recycled plastic.
There are plastic islands, some several times the size of the state of Texas, floating in the world’s oceans. Yet on land, stocks of recycled plastic are much too small to feed production of sustainable plastic products. Electrolux intends to gather plastic from the world’s oceans and turn it into a number of vacuum cleaners in the new initiative called “Vac from the sea.”

The aim is twofold: to bring attention to the issue of plastic pollution and to raise awareness on the scarcity of recycled plastics needed for making sustainable home appliances.
This is a good site because no one tells you about the local fires, excitment over the shopping season, the professional sports teams in your tv market, the latest crooked politician, . . . I absolutely do not want to know that. The stupid local stations can even try to get people excited about w e a t h e r. That is wrong -- to try to make us care more than we already do bout the weather.
I go to a weather site on the Internet for my weather.

I think that benefitting from kind of a web site depends on what you consider happy.

An article like the above gives me waaaaaay too many things to think about. I certainly don't want to be reminded of the sad state of the oceans or the fact that I am using lots of plastic in my own home . . . I also don't want to be reminded that this vacuum cleaner is outside my price range.
When am depressed and anxious, any news carries lots of emotion.

I stick to political news because it is not real. It is a game. I catch up about twice a week on political news. Usually I only watch it from a source that is not energetic. I want my political new slow and boring. Also, I want it from my perspective because I want to be comforted.
This of course only works if I keep the political news very limited and do not overdose by going to web sites too.
