Hi,
I called the doc's office to confirm and still confused. I think I am not supposed to take my meds the night before. My meds are ~Klonopin ~Aspirin 325 ~Verapami. I think that I can take Klonopin but cannot take Aspirin or Verapamil unitl after the test at 12:30. I'm making an effort to actually show up and do this one right -- lost paper work, but called a few times via finding the cardio on the internet --- he has a cool name -- unique but easy to remember. Do you think I should stop ALL meds, including the Klonopin? I normally take meds aroudn 2:00 am. I would be postponing the meds until 2:30 pm. M. |

when i had a nuclear stress test I wasn't given any instructions to stop taking my medications so i didn't.
I came out fine on the test even though i could only use the tread mill for a couple of minutes. The heart doctor said i didn't have to see him again. good luck bobby |

Mari,
although I'm not sure about the Klonopin, i think it makes more sense to take it, and skip the others. here is my reasoning on the Klonopin: 1. in normal doses, it should not affect cardiorespiratory parameters. 2. anxiety due to missed Klonopin could affect your heart rate. Verapamil and Aspirin both directly affect the cardiovascular system, so if they told you to skip them, then skip them. good luck with the test! hope all is well! ~ waves ~ |

Waves,
Thank you for explaining about the medications. =-=-=-=-= I freaked out in the waiting room. I had to wait for 1 hour 40 minutes before they got started with the test. Then I cried through the whole procedure. I was hard to lie still while crying at the same time. I called the cardio's office to complain about the wait. I will follow up. My heart is fine. The mdoc sent me on a freeeeeking fishing expedition. M. |

Yea, Your heart is fine!!!
That's wicked good news! I know it was a big uncomfortable ordeal, but the good docs figure it's better to be safe than sorry. I hope you feel better soon |

Dear Kay,
No. They did not give me the results of the test today. I have to wait until I see the cardio in Dec. I know that my heart is fine because I went through tons of heart tests in the hospital when I had a stroke July 2009. My internist is trying to be thorough. I wonder if missing the Verapmil dose by 14 hours kicked up my anxiety (I've been taking the Verapamil for a mood stabilizer) since the early nineties. M. |

That is actually one thing you can cross off the list, is it anxiety or an underlying cardiac issue. You are more persistant then I to have actually ruled it out. Hugs and hope that you feel some calming. di
