Dear Bizi

glad you are well enough to work on your own again. :)

i think it was a fair deal to pay the helper the full period for which you had requested her... even if you didn't need her for all of it. it would have been different if she had up and left but you each made a commitment as i see it. so good call, imho.

so glad Harriet is doing ok at the moment. :heartthrob:

I am feeling much better...mag citrate to the rescue!
I think it was the mobic that did me in...not going to take that any more.
I made sweet potatoe soup last night with pork and onions garlic and this spice called graham masala and coconut milk it was so good! one of the paleo recipes that I made last month but tweeked abit yesterday in the crock pot. I think it will make for good left overs tonight or tomorrow. We split a muffaletta for lunch today...boy was that good!
When I am not on a diet all I can do is think about food!

Dear Bizi,
Gardening is good.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy techniques that work on mindful-ness help with mindful eating.
Amazon has a whole bunch of books, CDs: http://www.amazon.com/Mindful-Eating.../dp/1590305310

Also, practicing relaxation / breath techniques work with connecting us to our mind and bodies.

I think it is great that you eat good food that you like and that you choose purposefully. That is very healthy.

we went to cracker barrel today for brunch.:D
I had scrambled egg beaters, turkey sausage, blackberry yogurt parfait, granola, grits and a wonderful biscuit(i did not eat the gravy that came with the biscuit because it tasted like fake bacon was used to flavor it, yuck). I took the blueberry muffin home to eat later.
That was a lot of food!
And this is the healthy choice breakfast!
I worked in the yard a bit, thinking about running to home depot to buy some flowers for our pots, they have to be really hardy because of the heat and I am not good about watering them....
the muscles in my arm are still effected from the injury but that was 6 weeks ago and I am no longer wearing the sling...what is a few days off early? I see the ortho on wed. I am hoping that he gives me orders for physical therapy then.
It is a beautiful day.

I'm glad you're feeling better! :)
And it sounds like you've had a good weekend....!

I've been to the greenhouse a couple of times recently. Aside from a cactus, I haven't found a houseplant the cats won't eat to death (and then throw up). The manager said the only plants she can think of that my cats can't kill are cacti and succulents.

They recommended I get some wheat/cat grass seeds. They sprouted for me a couple of days ago, I planted them, and the grass is already 2-3 inches high!
I also bought a bigger pot and transplanted my cactus.

I hope you get good news and the go-ahead for PT on Wednesday!

I reread this thread because I see my pdoc in the morning and wanted to refresh my memory. It looks like I was manic about 6 weeks.sort of nervous about going back to see her...because I have been drinking again....:o

edited to add that I was manic before my fall with all of the dieting and face issues, so 3 months is probably a more accurate picture.

OhKay 05-05-2011 11:36 AM

It will be okay, Bizi. :)

They all discourage drinking. Maybe she will be kind and understanding? Or you may get the kick in the butt you need if you want to stop drinking again.

My pdoc jumps on me about the drinking all the time. Right now, I'm only drinking moderately. She doesn't care- wants zero alcohol.
