OMG! Nathan Fillion is so easy on the eyes.

I fell in love with him on "Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place" when he played the dumb, good looking guy (not a stretch ;).
Before that he was a on a soap (One Life to Live) and did a serviceable job but let's just say he had not grown into his looks yet. He has looks to spare now.

Yes she is. I am appreciating Sawyer more in this season, although we get glimpses of his softer side at the end of S2, when after the deaths of Ana Lucia and Libby whom Kate even worked to try and save. Around the memorial, we see Sawyer cradling a grieving Kate in his arms. My impression of the "fight" was that Sawyer expressly staged it. He wanted to test the mettle of his captors... and he did. I smiled when he gave Kate a detailed report of their strengths and, especially, their weaknesses.

my thought was simply that any boat in the hands of the wreck survivors represented a threat to Ben - a threat that they could find the Others' camp and ...who knows what. It seems they are in fact outnumbered. Certainly a rescue attempt could be made.
even though i don't follow sports including America's National Pastime, I still thought it was cool this particular event was chosen. ;)

yes this is a biggie. I ind that some other back stories provide emotional hints, or tie in later with another "piece" of the same story. So i am always attentive to them... I feel unable to gauge their overall importance because it may not be immediately apparent.

I forgot about Hurley's wealth. Duh. I almost use the word differently I think.
Hurley has a fortune, a great deal of money, but Sun has the wealthy lifestyle and her family has been able to buy themselves some class and even though her father is a mobster we can still think of him as having bought some degree of class and a feeling of generational wealth for his family.)

I am going to look up what day we are in for learning about the pregnancy. I do not think that counts as a spoiler.
We do not know the last time Sun was with the boyfriend, but we know she was on the plane in order to leave her husband and then changed her mind in Australia.

I first saw him as Caleb in the last season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He played an evil priest... and lemme tell you he was one HECK of an evil guy. comparable and beyond Somerhalder's Damon-being-bad on TVD. Woww.

Then I saw him in a movie where he had a sumptuous affair with an abused woman... he was her doctor it was kinda creepy... and now in Castle - ever seen that? sigh. I want to slap Stana Katic (Det. kate Bennet) upside the head for not just grabbing him and.... well ... and everything. Of course they don't usually because in these "working pair" shows, the sexual tension is partly what retains audience.

Waves,

WOW! I had a strong reaction to your post about Nathan F. I laughed and got so very distracted. :D

Now I am back to check on how long Sun (and the other survivors) have been on the island.

The plane crashed Wednesday, 22 September 2004.

The Glass Balleriana takes place on day 69: Monday, 29 November 2004.

(I am not going to link to that info.)

Desmond is figuring things out about the island and the electromagnetic stuff. I liked the "golfclub" experiment that elicited an instant thunderstorm with lightning that promptly struck the club.

------------

The nasty pacemaker trick on Sawyer was awful. I also wondered about the island that Ben showed him, and wondered whether what he was saying was true. In one sense, I wondered if they were not, in fact, on the original island, and the island they could see from the high clearning were not the "Alcatraz-like" islet... or another island. In another sense, It occurred to me that "the" island could itself be curved around like a crescent... tightly enough that from one tip extremity you could see the other but not the connecting land... less likely. But my head dreams up all sorts of things.

S3 Episode 5 - "I Do"

I MISSED THIS COMPLETELY - all repeats! :Bawling:

I had found transcripts at some point... I will try to find them again and read this episode transcript over the weekend.

==============================

S3 Episode 6 - "The Cost of Living"

I missed the beginning of this tonight. I shall probably try to catch the beginning on the late night repeat so that I get all of it, including may be some snippets of the last episode which I never saw. I don't want to wait till Monday to have to see the beginning bits.

I liked this episode. I liked seeing that "our folks" made some headway. It was about time Sawyer and Kate quit the reciprocal con act that they didn't give squat about each other too. I was frustrated with Kate for not communicating better when Jack is offering them an escape window. They have some serious leverage at this juncture.... USE it ... tell Jack what is going on.... Make them provide safe passage...etc... I was screaming at her inside my head. On the flip side, I was quite surprised at what Jack did in order to win that edge.

I was quite surprised at the flashbacks of Kate getting married... to the cop played by Nathan Fillion. A cop? What WAS she thinking.

I am posting this to keep track of where your episodes are.

I think I am three behind.
I am watching on Netflix so I hope to catch up. I might fast forward a little (but probably not . . . this stuff is so addicting.) I do hate most of the flashbacks . . . dunno why . . . . we get some background stuff that is apparent now and occasionally apparent later . .. BUT WE DO NOT MOVE THE PLOT FORWARD -- that is my gripe about them.
O.k., no griping. Back to watching.

Waves,

S3 Episode 4 - "Every Man for Himself"

I used to watch these so closely. I remember asking two guys at work about the 5 iron that Paulo is willing to let Desmond take. I wondered if it is not needed as much as other clubs.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_(golf)
Quote:

The 5-iron sits on the cusp between "long" and "mid" irons, and can be thought of as belonging to either class depending on the set and the player's preference; it is used more often and replaced with a hybrid less often than the 2-4, but is still commonly replaced with a hybrid club, especially in ladies' sets.
They probably gave me a b.s. answer to look like they knew something.

I like the Sawyer episodes but this was more violent than it had to be. We cannot tell if it matters who is in charge of the others.
I like Jack and Juliet together, maybe because this is a new pairing. It was sad to watch Jack pounding on Colleen's chest to resuscitate her.
Kate gets her clothes back.
Episodes with Sawyer have more literary references than others.
The idea of a possible second island . . . it looks like total reason for despair.

I watched Season 3 Episode 5 "I Do" but will not write about here because you have not seen it yet.

I fast forwarded Season 3 Episode 6 We're not quite in Portland.

1) Locke talking about Ecko and the "monster"
2. There is mention of Jacob's list
2) the Nate Fillion and Kate scenes,
3) the end when Jack tells Kate to run.

Hi, Bizi,

I saw:
  • two episodes in season 1 (maybe 6 and 7or so)
  • the last two episodes in season 2
  • first six episodes in season 3.

That is great that you like Downton Abbey.
I can re-watch Downton Abbey for a while! Except one episode I missed. Twice I missed it.

I admit to spoiling the season by reading The Guardian Recaps/ Reviews in the UK back in the fall and right after what they call the Christmas special and we call the Season Finale.

The writer and creator of Downton Abbey (Jullian Fellowes) was the writer for Gosford Park, directed by Robert Alman. You might like that movie. It also stars Maggie Smith (2001). I loved it and could watch it again.

Jullian Fellowes also wrote the BBC 2011 Titanic TV Mini Series-- lots of class based stuff about the Brits. It is available on amazon and other places.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1869152/

(There is another Titanic from around 2012 but it is not the Jullian Fellowes one so I do not know anything about it.)
