Hi Mari
I think the stuff about Said praying (on the boat) was in the S2 cliffhanger? That occurs at the same time the prisoner capture happens. And no we have not seen him praying before - I thought it was odd he allowed himself to be interrupted, and I also wondered about the direction lol. And I was very amused by the statue, and Said's observation on it. My first thought was that perhaps it was an animal, not a human. I also did see S3 Ep.1 but it shows what is happening to Sawyer, Jack and Kate who are now captive of the Others. there are some flashbacks too. we do not see anything else like what is going on back at camp. I missed tonight altogether, so Ep.1 is as far as I've gotten. I have set my alarm to watch the Ep.2 repeat tomorrow morning - that's my last chance! It's also on tonight at 4 am but I tend to forget during the night if I'm up and I don't want to set an additional alarm my phone sometimes gets overloaded and then nothing goes off. ------------- Hmmmm. I am confused though about the discrepancy as to what we each think is in which episode. I am going to check IMDB to see if there descriptions match what I am seeing - I'll be back. ~ waves ~ |

Hi Mari
Here are the links to IMDB's Episode Lists for Seasons 2 and 3 of LOST. From each season you can navigate to other seasons. I thought this source could be useful to help us "sync". Episode titles and first air dates are included. IMDB - LOST - Episode List - Season 2 IMDB - LOST - Episode List - Season 3 ~~~~~ S2, Ep23 - "Live Together, Die Alone" ... May 24, 2006 Quote:

Waves,
I got confused. I watched Season 3 episode 1 "A Tale of Two Cities eventually. This episode was disturbing as all get out even though I had seen it once before. Those cages are upsetting. Kate on the beach in a dress was disturbing and not really necessary except to let us see what Henry Gale / Ben is up to. (I wished she was not put in a dress). We are introduced to Juliet. We know that she stands up to Ben. We are introduced to the kid in the cage next to Sawyer. I felt bad for Sawyer when he was told that the bears only needed two hours to figure out how to get food. It was good that Sawyer and the kid tried to escape. That gives us some hope. Maybe the next escape is better planned. Jack is in an aquarium. Juliet is vague about what group made the aquarium. I wished he would take the stupid sandwich and not try to keep fighting. The Jack flashbacks always bore me except it is sad that his wife has left him and that his father has taken up drinking after 50 days of sobriety. I thought it was sweet that the father does seem to care about Jack (His call to Jack's ex-wife) . Do you like Jack? Maybe sometimes he is useful. We did not get to see if Kate ate the strawberries. She accepts the fish biscuit from Sawyer. ======= So what happened in the hatch last episode? Did Locke mess up by not putting in the numbers? Mari |

Hi Mari
I just wanted to let you know what was going on, and why I haven't really written much in terms of my own thoughts as to what is going on with LOST. You mentioned about S3 Ep1 being disturbing. YES. I found it very disturbing too, in many of the same ways you mentioned, andthensome. The psychological contrast between aspects of Kate's treatment are very disturbing, the dress and the myriad implications of that, the exquisite looking breakfast... with a captor, her having to cuff herself in order to partake... later we see the cuffs have made her bleed but we are left to imagine how it might have happened. ![]() It goes even further than that single episode for me, though. I actually started feeling disturbed at the end of S2, and now ... even though what is going on is significant in terms of character development, so I do find it intriguing ... I also find it hard to watch. It would probably be easier if i could watch just once a week, but a daily dose of this twisted stuff is hard for me to stomach! I think that is why I find it hard to come back and comment on it. ![]() ![]() This is what I saw tonight (description from IMDB): S3, Ep4 - "Every Man for Himself" Quote:

I remember finding some episodes upsetting. The impact is less intense in the rerun experience. Thoughts on Season 3 Episode 2 “The Glass Ballerina” I noticed that Sun is the wealthiest of any of the other characters. Do you have any thoughts on whose baby Sun is carrying? She is a tough cookie -- cuts fish and shoots Colleen on the boat. And Colleen herself is pretty fierce. Sawyer tells Kate that Juliet has more steel than any of the men. He has figured out that most of the men are not fighters and talks over the hidden sound system about waiting for their vulnerable moments. I am wondering what Ben wants to do with the boat. Doesn’t he have access to another boat? For us Red Sox lovers still celebrating the first World Series win in 86 (?) years (and against arch rival Yankees!), the Red Sox win to show Jack current events was cool. Alex is looking for her boyfriend Karl. Sometimes the back stories seem more important than others. Sun makes the choice to stay with her husband. Season 3 Episode 3 “Further Instructions” I am always confused about our survivors spread out in other places. People are here: Trapped in cages Out side/ near the old hatch With the sail boat At the village of the others I was so relieved to hear and see Locke again after putting up with Jack and the cages stuff. The polar bear stuff is silly except to keep up the danger level of the island. In the airport vision Boone points out people who do not need Locke’s help and others who are fine “for a while” and so on. Hurley has made it back and Desmond can see things like Locke’s speech before it happens. I think Desmond gives Hurley a quick explanation of what the key did to the island but I do not know what happened. M |

S3 Episode 4 - "Every Man for Himself"
Desmond is figuring things out about the island and the electromagnetic stuff. I liked the "golfclub" experiment that elicited an instant thunderstorm with lightning that promptly struck the club. ------------ The nasty pacemaker trick on Sawyer was awful. I also wondered about the island that Ben showed him, and wondered whether what he was saying was true. In one sense, I wondered if they were not, in fact, on the original island, and the island they could see from the high clearning were not the "Alcatraz-like" islet... or another island. In another sense, It occurred to me that "the" island could itself be curved around like a crescent... tightly enough that from one tip extremity you could see the other but not the connecting land... less likely. But my head dreams up all sorts of things. S3 Episode 5 - "I Do" I MISSED THIS COMPLETELY - all repeats! ![]() I had found transcripts at some point... I will try to find them again and read this episode transcript over the weekend. ============================== S3 Episode 6 - "The Cost of Living" I missed the beginning of this tonight. I shall probably try to catch the beginning on the late night repeat so that I get all of it, including may be some snippets of the last episode which I never saw. I don't want to wait till Monday to have to see the beginning bits. I liked this episode. I liked seeing that "our folks" made some headway. It was about time Sawyer and Kate quit the reciprocal con act that they didn't give squat about each other too. I was frustrated with Kate for not communicating better when Jack is offering them an escape window. They have some serious leverage at this juncture.... USE it ... tell Jack what is going on.... Make them provide safe passage...etc... I was screaming at her inside my head. On the flip side, I was quite surprised at what Jack did in order to win that edge. I was quite surprised at the flashbacks of Kate getting married... to the cop played by Nathan Fillion. A cop? What WAS she thinking. ~ waves ~ |

I fell in love with him on "Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place" when he was brought in to play the dumb, good looking guy (2001). Before that he was a on a soap (One LIfe to LIve) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92SMdJScbsw and did a good serviceable job but let's just say he had not grown into his looks yet. He has looks to spare now. M |
