I am going to be getting some soon, it looks awesome over top of different colors. I am working on water marbling at the moment, not sure I can make it work with the polishes I have, some polishes just refuse to work well on top of the water. I will be showing it off once I get some done.

Hi Mari!

You bet I have a couple of tips! If I coat the finished polished nails every two days the manicure can last over a week. But I get bored with the color so I do them twice a week. I don't always remember to retop coat them so they will start chipping on day five or so. My leopard manicure chipped a bit last night and so I redid them with a gorgeous deep red color from Sally Hansen. Also always, always use a base coat, even if it's just regular top coat, underneath polish, this will not only prevent staining but makes polish wear better over time. That's how I get my polish to last a long, long time.

I hope that you give it a go. Try the vaselline trick, use a very thin layer on your cuticles before you polish and then use a q-tip with alcohol on the nail bed to remove any excess vaselline, then polish, let dry and WIPE AWAY the mistakes for a picture perfect manicure! This really works well and I like to use this trick on my right hand since who is good on that right hand if you're right handed? Pretty much all of us are in the same boat on that problem, but the vaselline trick makes it look as pretty as the left hand does.

Here is a pic of my current manicure:

Hope you like it and get some use out of those tips!

I think I have the same color polish, Pam! It's is Sally Hansen's "Wine Not"!
I mostly use the complete salon manicure variety.

I'm polishing again tonight with "Plum's the Word." I'll try to post a pic.

I'm redoing mine tonight because they chipped up, I will give the polish another shot with two coat next time, I have a feeling because I only did one that is why it chipped so bad on the first day. I'd love to see a pic of that color! Hope they come out well.

Wow I love the way my nails came out, took about an hour and a half to get them done from first base coat to last top coat, but I think they look awesome! It's a technique called Water Marbling. Not the easiest way to get polish on your nails but definitely a pretty result when you're done don't you think?

Thanks bizi! I got all kind of color combinations coming up over the coming weeks, I just can't wait to see what they look like each time I dunk a prepped nail into the design I make out of drops of polish on the surface of a cup of filtered water. AMazing stuff to be sure! GLad you liked it!
