Red face thank you all

i still can't believe it myself.

i got though one contract and in spite of a lot of hassle made a good impression on the final client which could, in the middle term, turn into new opportunities if i wanted them.

and am starting a new one.

i am employed and can buy stuff. i still wonder how long this will last, but i made it through a lot of hard stuff.

one colleague told me, "i've seen lots of people here come and go and come back again. it was meant to be, you'll be back... this might not be the right moment." i am going with that.

i think just getting out of what was an emotionally charged situation for me was probably the right thing, right now, even though i am no longer convinced my boss is a demon as evil he appeared to me. it may have been i was putting a read on things... i had a while there where i was pretty messed up and it is hard to know "who's on first" or in this case, who was "off" first. i just don't know. but it was not just him, there was me. in the beginning, he was very supportive. and alter, he started being real nice and we worked really well the last month. even doing some things in tandem. i learned a lot of things from him. my colleague/coordinator remained loud and rude and while you can "expect it" from her... it isn't pleasant 2/5 days a week. the intermediate contractor meanwhile i'm pretty sure is playing contractor games because there were too many contradictions. so it was all a big mess. to pin it on my boss would be using him as a scapegoat because he is emotionally labile... someone could do that to any of us, really.

certainly the contractual arrangement (or rather chain of arrangements) made for abysmal communications not to mention abysmal wages. (being unemployed, abysmal was fantastic! )

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
the new place ...
has a couple of worrisome aspects thus far:
  1. temp of the room (might be too cold). definitely 1 guy likes to keep it like a fridge, i prefer something tamer... we'll see how this pans out.
  2. distance/time it takes to go, get coffee, come back. no machine on our floor in/out through two badged doors and bit of a walk through Marketing. i wonder if other ppl suffer from caffeine-deficiency fits where their brain crashes if they don't get some ASAP. they did not even take an afternoon coffee-break... only one guy... yikes!
  3. last but not least ... this could be a biggie for me. my machine is oriented outward towards the passageway. i like having my back to a wall and machine a wall, even better if it's a corner space. reason. i have a "thing" about ppl walking by, being able to be able to read my screen while i'm in the middle of something. it did not interfere with me too much friday. i didn't have much to do, especially with how many times i locked myself out but this is a quirk of mine that might just.... well.....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

anyway, a huge thank you to everyone here. you guys have been phenomenal support through all this.
