Default computer: black screen

My computer clicked off while I was working and went to black. I can't get it to turn on. I lost a few recent documents -- last back up was a couple of weeks ago. I hope that hubby will go with me to the apple store on Sunday with the computer . . . probably should call him and the store for an appointment for drop off.
I am not going into that place alone --- too many obnoxious apple geniuses who are clearly working on a quota system in which they are supposed to get people in and out fast so they can get onto the next person. I hate them. They don't even know a freeeeeeeeeeeking thing abotu comptuers. They are sales people. I want to talk to a computer person . You can't talk to a techie at apple . . . . the people who are going to work on your computer are way in the back and never allowed to deal with people

Right now I'm using a little net book that does one or two things.
