Hi I need some thoughts.
I picked up new prescription. And I was taken down 1/2 my old dosage the last time it was filled. From 6 pills to 3 pills. It was the same exact generic though. And even though there was a little more pain. I was doing very well. So when I went to pick up the new prescription, trying to find to get back to my old dosage or close soon. Becaust e even though the prescription was 6 I usually took 4. And took 6 if I was in really bad pain. The pharmacy had not my usually gabapentin, its a different generic. Maybe its just because we are so critical with different generics for seizure. But this isn't usually for seizures for me. But I have never taken anything but the original brand for almost 4 years I believe. So I really am and was upset. I have instead of starting to try and go back to my 4 generics. I'm thinking of going off completely. And paying the almost 5 times as much for the cymbalta. Because it will never be a different med. I can't afford both. And next month who knows what manufacturer they will get and give me. I have no say. I have to wait till the day my pay comes around when I run out anyway. Sometimes its going to be 10 days later. I don't know what to do. Not sure if I filled out the paperwork, and was approved if my doctor's office would always get same meds. Its quite a thought. At least I could go back on all my meds. Life is a lemon right now. Donna ![]() |

I forgot to tell you. I had to ask my neuro to reduce my verapamil to
240ER so that I could pay a lot less money for this med a month. But then I forgot to tell them the different pharmacy and had to way $40.00 more than I should. But its still almost 1/2 what the 300mg er is. So I am really finding I need to really police this mess. Just to get my meds. I can't even get health insurance, But am trying to keep paying for my meds. It takes about $200.00 a month without getting the cymbalta, and a couple that I had already stopped for asthma. Those will have to come back if the symptoms do. Ugh. That doc is on my schedule to be scheduled for August or September. Donna ![]() |

some of the big pharmicueticals pay for peoples meds who don't have insurance. Have you tried that route?
maybe youhave already... Wish it were easier for you. It should not have to be so hard for you donna. ((((HUGS)))) bizi

bizi's idea about going to the pharmaceutical house is good. I get my Niaspan that way for just $10/mo that way. My insurance won't pay for it & I can't afford the regular cost. I got their 800# off the Internet & filed online, then my MD mailed in more paperwork. Took 6 wks.
if transportation isn't a prob, you might try moving the script to a pharmacy that is filling with the generic you need. I've sometimes had to move every month, but usually Walgreens, kmart, cvs, or Publix comes thru. A major nuisance, but I have to get a new script every month anyway. Chemistry just seems like a more precise thing when I was taking it in school. I don't understand why we have to do so much experimenting in our bodies with all this. You are brave & certainly well focused on what you want. I really admire what you're doing. My very best wishes. |

Most pharmacies will order a specific generic for you. Since you are cash, this would not impact insurances...make sure you tell them that.
Keep in mind that gabapentin is not well absorbed, and the % absorbed seems to go down as you increase dose.

Yes you are all right. I haven't done it yet for a reason.
But I have a slight difference. And need to figure out how to do this. See my meds are filled by 3 or 4 different doctors. Its honestly not what it sounds till just theis week. I didn't have the brain to handle the different doctors. Trying to get through my medical with the insurance comp. That still isn't paying my medical is scaring me right now. Looks like I'm go to get a lawyer soon. So its going to take more money. I really hate this. I really wish I'd not got rear ended. But for more than one reason. I hated the pain, and uncertainity. But now I can't even know they paid the bills. So now I have to not only pay them. I have to get the meds. Donna ![]() |
