Dear Friend,

http://money.cnn.com/2011/08/01/news...ing_vote.cnnw/
From what I read, in this particular plan there are no cuts to Social Security, Medicad, Medicare, or Veterans Benefits.

In the future, they might raise the age for social security and raise the amount that working people pay into it, but none of that has happened yet --- some things that they expect to work out in the later votes.

They do not want to take away money from people who are already getting checks. They prefer trimming here and there for FUTURE people getting checks.

Thank you Mari. I was trying to get the news on TV. My mistake. They where saying everything.

That article was helpful. BF

I'm on Social Security Disability. That's why I feel like I'm out on a uncertain limb. I'm not of retirement age. I'm in my 50s.

I don't have a 401k anymore. I had to withdraw it early, and lost some of it because of that. I needed the money to have between the job,and the hearing. Then I waited 2,and 1/2 years for my hearing to either get it,or be denied. I got it with a judge, and other people present.

I'm worried that I could loose it. Then what could I do? ??????????

Truthfully, this scares me. This may be part of my disorder. I live with it all the time now. BF

Yeah, I'm glad we did away with TV at our house about 8 years ago. I'm typically oblivious of the news. I'd probably be nuts if I watched that stuff all the time.

Hi, Curly,

I grew up with no TV and not much radio. I read the news paper as a teenager. No TV is a different way of life. I don't know if I could do that now.

Instead of TV do you watch movies? Does your daughter watch TV at other people's houses?

Dear Friend,

I am happy that you get social security.
The government will keep sending those checks.
I wish you had a good therapist.

Mari,

Yes, we watch movies and old series like 'Little House on the Prairie','I love Lucie','The Beverly Hillbillies', etc, etc, etc.

And yes, she is allowed to watch TV when she goes other places. But she watches things like 'Little House' over and over...drives me bonkers

Dear Steve,

i understand your fears. i am a little younger but not much. it is such a relief to work again but also stressful... i don't know if i can hang on to it between the migraines and the moods. i lost all the money i had saved up, in two separate occasions of my life and i don't kow if i'd be eligible for the SSDI equivalent here.

i hope the bipartisan agreement being settled has helped alleviate your fears at least for now.

i want the best for you. you are in my thoughts.

(((hugs)))

I would like to mention one thing in public. In 1961,in President Dwight D. Eisenhowers farewell speech,he warned us about the Military Industrial Complex. He became a five star general before he became president.

His speech on the Military Industrial Complex is on Youtube. Now WWII was needed beyond any war that we've had in more then a century.

Once again I have the utmost respect for our vets.,and military familys. I went to a military academy. BF
