Dear CBlue

nice to C you (been a while) ...

i am the same way with the news. emotional shows i can handle to some degree but that degree varies. mostly, if it's fiction, i can handle it... even if it's gory LOL. like all the vamp shows. the reality-like tear-jerker movies are actually harder on me.

anyway i know what you mean about (not) keeping up wiht current events and politics. doesn't interest me either. it is annoying that my parents sometimes watch the tv in this room, but lately they've been more sensitive to the fact that i'm a mess and can't deal, and go watch it in their room.

i don't think i've ever seen spongebob. i don't know if he's made it this side of the world but i'll keep my eyes open.

Steve.

how are you holding up?

i saw an ad for scooby doo cd's today. i can't afford to buy them but i remebered how much i used to love ol' scoob. they probably rerun it in the mornings at some time i will have to look for it.

i hope you are finding things to take your mind off your worries and are able to relax more. do you like to read? sometimes i find reading more relaxing. if my mind is not so flighty that i can follow the text. i was thinking like science fiction. there are tonnnnnnnnnnnnnns of star-trek novels out there... old series, new generation, ds9, hybrids, i've seen a bit of everything. some are so so but some are quite decent. they are independent stories from the tv series' story-lines, but they are generally consistent with character portrayals and are not in conflict with the "real" storylines.

of course there is lots of other good scifi out there. these are just, pretty short, and pretty light reading, so i thought i'd suggest it.

sending hugs and good thoughts.

Default Hi Waves

I'm hanging in there. I am depressed, and have that anxiety pain in my chest. This happens to me,and I don't know why. I don't seem to have any energy. I'm not interested in very much of anything right now.

My reading is hindered by a reading problem. I think that it's dyslexia, and OCD combined. I still read, but not for long periods of time. I do like science fiction.

I wish that I had a better report. BF

Blank Movie time?

If there's a library nearby, you could request a bunch of sci-fi movies & have your own film festival. What do you think? Popcorn, Good & Plenties?

Default Thank you Mari.

I'm mostly watching TV. I have the scanners going, but the local police are silent right now. They also use computers, cellphones, and blackberries. I hear very little on the radios.

I could go to Shortwave radio,or High Frequency, and listen to Worldwide broadcast,Amature Radio operators, and utility frequencies, but it takes so much time finding something worth listening to.

I'm just blah right now. My moods will get better probably soon. They sometimes get worse if someone,or the News freaks me out. I'm trying to stay away from the news, and what the government wants to cut. BF

Steve

I check out by watching a lot of TV, too. It numbs the mind, but I also watch a lot of educational programming. Crime shows- they usually catch the bad guy. And adult cartoons and some kids cartoons.

Comic books are entertaining and the reading is light.
And you can also get very inexpensive used movies on amazon and ebay- they tell you the condition in the advert.

I hope this lets up for you soon! Hang in there!
Kay

Default Old VCR tape

Ever heard of an old Chinese film, Red Firecracker, Green Firecracker? Really good, fabulous music trak. I'd forgotten what better quality VCR was compared with DVD.

I love getting lost in another culture & historical period but with characters simply motivated: love, hate, greed, fear, desire.
