if constipation is your only symptom i seriously doubt it. if things are not better by your next visit, it would be good to remind him also, that the meds you take can cause constipation, and about the high protein diet you observed for several months. tell him any supplements you take, also. i believe he will work with you on med dosing, different meds, and diet/fluids, first. i think the colonoscopy would only be considered if all of that is an epic failure, or if you have other serious symptoms even when you have normal bowel movements (stool discoloration, pain, bleeding, etc.) painful movements and bleeding are fairly common if one is constipated so that would not count.

i'm sorry. you are being really really brave facing this medical challenge. you did really well telling your doctor about the constipation, so now he can help you, and you can feel better and move on. i think you'll feel better mentally also with this problem behind you...omg, no pun intended! anyway, you know what i mean.

I have to make an eye appointment. last time he had trouble taking a reading from the back of my eye which scared me. I just seem to be scared of everything.
this is more pressure. perhaps get the physical over and then do this. one thing at a time. do you always go to the same doctor or is it a clinic and you get pot luck? i hope things go smoothly this time.

it is so wonderful to have you back. you say things so gently. no blood or pain. then i would be through the roof and i guess have a colonscopy. strange that the doctor didn't ask me. this is a clinic but i go to the same doctor. my other doctor retired so this is the second time i have seen this doctor. he seems nice. things are a little confusing. i go back in six weeks because i forgot to tell the front desk i was having a physical. I thought that was supposed to be written on the slip. who knows. my blood pressure was good this time. i wonder if it was because i took two clonopan before i went lol.
so i should postpone the eye exam. he is a park avenue eye doctor with a baby grand in his office who you would love. his hair is slightly longest and he is the most unpretensious doctor and inquisitive about life doctor i have ever met. I think he is sort of artsy. One time he was playing scriabin in his office.
I just don't like his new machine and he told me i am growing cataracts. yuck.
what a control freak i am. my sister just had them taken care of and said it was a breeze like being in a twilight zone. everybody says a colonscopy is a breeze. one of my friends says the high from the profonol(sp) she had when she came out it would make her want to have mine if i was scheduled for it.
i have spent so much time talking about constipation. you can't imagine the amount of time i have been obsessing about it. here i was so embarrassed at first to mention it.
love

Default Dear Bobby and folks

I sooooo know about constipation. I had that exam we all don't like eithor. After many trials of different meds, and over the counter products, I found a natural one. I swear by it, and it has kept me normal now for going on two years, even with all my medications. It is simple...Steal Cut oatmeal. If you eat it on a regular basis, I promise this problem we all seem to share will go away. You will be normal in that department. I eat a big bowl of it as often as I can, and at all different times of the day. It taste fab. much better than the ordinary stuff by quaker oats. I put some natural sugar on it, or brown sugar, and YUMMY. I actually consider it a comfort food like chocolate! It can be inexpensive in bulk at the health food store. Do you all remember the saying..."you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink" ?
I truely am on to something with this good tasting remedy. I sincerely hope that some of you will try this, and not need to spend money on pharmacy stuff. Try it everyone, bobby.....I promise it works. ginnie

Bobby

I think until you get the machine in the eye doctor's office over.
That anxiety will remain. So i would either put it off or schedule
it right away.

I am so happy the new medicine worked.

Dear Bobby,

Maybe call the doctor's office -- the doctor you saw recently. These meds we take have powerful side effects.

Default Dear Bobby

Don't be afraid, it will be OK. Even if you have a blockage, which may be the trouble. Yes call your doctor, but in the meantime, I would consider using one of those small bottles of solution and put this inside you. You know whay I am talking about. this will remove the blockage, and then your system can start to work properly again. YOu may have to do this more than once, to remove the matter that is stuck inside. It is not so bad to do. Then after that, start eating a large bowl of oatmeal EVERYDAY. It takes awhile for this bulk fiber to go through your body. the intestines are really very long, and there may be stuck matter along the way. Don't feel bad bobby, it happens to us all who take these medications. I had to be given this enema in the hospital by someone else, and that was quite embarassing. It will be ok. Try this dear, and I am sure your doctor would agree with this approach. It is not fun when our bodies don't work right. You need to get yourself regular again so that this never occurs again. Let me know bobbie if you consider this option. I sure what to help you. ginnie
