You felt that you did o.k. That is great!!

Some people plan ahead before they go to an event. I think that is what you are doing. I remember hearing about how Olympic athletes practice each move in their mind. Often they have special trainers / psychologists working with them. Musicians and other performers often prepare like athletes. A person could use those same techniques for any event.

Here is something I learned about going to events: People are paying attention to themselves much more than they are to me:
