I am doing so much better Nikko, I can't ever see myself sleeping without this machine again. I feel so much better it's like night and day the difference in how good I feel after just two days of decent sleep. Like your friend I had to go to a hospital and be watched and then a sleep specialist wrote a report on the findings which I got in the mail today. I was sleeping at reduced efficiency of 76% which is really bad...
That is probably why I feel so much better with the machine because I am getting the right level of oxygen. I am glad I had my hubby video tape me so I could see for myself just how bad it was, like every other breath I was stopping breathing. Because I had some proof my PCP dr ordered the sleep study done and they did a tituration on the machine, meaning they found what level worked for me so they could preset the machine for me so I didn't have to worry about trying to figure that stuff out, we'd never get it set right if it wasn't for them working the study machine used that night to find the right level of pressure to set mine to. It was really hard to sleep too, I tried and laid there for forty-five minutes and was completley unable to sleep until I laid on my back. I don't have a number of times I stopped breathing but it was over thirty times in about an hour and fiftteen minutes. Which I bet I was closer to 60 times and the guy just couldn't tell me because they're not allowed to. I am so happy, I hope that it helps with mental states too, I feel a lot like I did when I was a kid, like happy and much healthier, NO PAIN to speak of in the morning until I was up for awhile moving around. It's truly an amazing thing. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Pamster,as a disability claims adjudicator, I read medical records all day long, and you'd be surprised at how many people have them! I had no idea it was so prevalent!
Glad it's working out for you! Hugs, Jacquie

Thanks befuddled2, I am so excited about sleeping it's just wonderful. I feel so much better just after two nights with it and it wasn't hard to get used to either. It's so funny, Jackie laughs and wants me to 'suit up' for sleeping, he likes that I use the machine, I can tell. I am so happy he doesn't need one..

I am not surprised at all Jacquie, I know it's a big problem around the country and around the world, thank God we have these machines...And that insurance covers them...That's all I can say. It's amazing the remarkable difference this little thing makes in a person's life...It really is. ![]() Oh yes and I did get motivated to make a apnea page last night, I had a lot of energy and lately I can't just say I will add something to my site and just NOT do it..It nags at me until it's been added. I haven't got a pic of me wearing the mask yet, but soon I will add one. I have to get hubby to take one. ![]() http://cyber-soup.com/osa.shtml ![]()

Thanks Bobby, I wanted to share the great news because I feel so much better. Last night my nose acted a little stuffed up but when I went to lay on my back again it cleared up. I don't know how to use it when my nose will be congested, Jackie has a cold and I think I might be coming down with it too. If so I guess I just have to hope that one nostril stays open.

Thanks Mari! I knew this great news would be fun to share.
![]() I definitely have allergies Bobby, I don't take anything for them though I probably should, I just feel like I take enough meds as it is and I don't need one more you know? But I don't think I am getting Jackie's cold, my sinuses have stayed open so hopefully I don't have to try to sleep without the machine any time soon. I woke up in a lot of pain this morning, the bed we have needs to go to the dump, I need a new one, but I think when we move we'll be getting one then so I am going to just hang in there until we get a new one for me. I am so ready to move...I want it over with! ![]() ![]()

I have been enjoying this thread. You have reminded me of a kid at Christmas all week and it has brought a smile to my face.
I am sorry to hear about the return of the morning pain. That sucks, but you are probably right about the mattress. The woes of insomnia and the cycle of pain. I feel like crawling to the bathroom first thing in the morning now too. And mine is only fibro, so I am truly feeling for you. gently hugs. |
