I have a hard time deciding for myself, but for some reason I don't struggle with how to dress them. I don't know why it's that way.

I wear scrubs during the week so no decisions there, the weekends are hard deciding what to wear, I only fit into a couple of pants so that is easy I have several favorite tops to wear, 3/4 length...it was very warm today in the upper 70's took a walk and got really hot around noon. It is unseasonably warm for this time of year! loven it!

Hi,

Making the decisions you describe can be helped in therapy with a therapist trained in cognitive therapy or a version of it.

Ameliorating the possible anxiety, needs the help of the pdoc. Let the pdoc know how paralyzing some decisions during your day can be.

Thanks Mari. I didn't know what to call this or what kind of help to ask pdoc for.

HI, Butterfly,

Tell pdoc you need skills and techniques to get through difficult times of the day.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
http://psychology.about.com/b/2012/1...f-the-week.htm
Quote:
Definition: Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) is a technique that can be used to help people better understand the thoughts and feelings that lead to potentially problematic behaviors. CBT has a range of uses, but it can be particularly effective when treating phobias, anxiety, additions, and depression.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) (This is a newer version of CBT.)
http://psychcentral.com/lib/2007/an-...r-therapy/all/
These are the elements:
1. Mindfulness
2. Interpersonal Effectiveness
3. Distress Tolerance
4. Emotion Regulation

Lots of current therapists use some aspect of DBT.

Here is a book.

Thanks Mari - I'm printing this out. I watched the video and another one by her called "don't scratch the itch" in which she said "a feeling can go away if we don't behave to it". Very interesting. It is so weird. There are times when I can't make a decision to save my life and yet other times I can be very impulsive.

Red face

When I am hypo/manic Oh the impulsivity can get me into to soooo much trouble! Then comes the compulsions where I just have to do something....sigh
