Waves,
I agree with everything you said 100 percent. She is about 35 years old. She lost her kids last year. I thought that might be the thing that reeled her in but no. Her family is a lot to blame quite honestly. Her father and my father are cousins so I was raised alot the same. First of all our parents are very Mormon. We were made to feel guilty about everything. We were taught to work hard and as long as you had a job you were considered "doing ok" by the family. We were taught to not talk about our problems. We were taught that women were kind of less than men and we needed to find husbands and serve them and have kids. So yeah we both rebelled against the strict rules we were kept under. Her parents were more strict and still are than mine. I am friends with my parents now and they have accepted some things about me. Her parents are not her friends they constantly make her feel inferior and I can see why she is still rebelling.
