Wink Our Blackbird says, "Spring is here."

Well, we have this bird - most likely a blackbird of some type - that starts hollerin in the middle of the night to usher in the Springtime.
Every year he does this. Ok, it's probably not the same actual bird every year but to us it's as though it is.

So, according to him, and yes, i believe it is a "him" because the males have more complex songs, a-hollerin' time has begun!

In other words: Spring is HERE.

Never mind it's still supposed to freeze next week.
And never mind the Equinox is a couple weeks off.

He's out there now... at 4.30 am started chirrpin and tweetin and twirping and chwirrrrrling and whistling and the whole nine yards.... been at it for a half hour so far... and he's gonna keep at it too!

It's funny. I guess i'm always up at night, because I am used to this. Often I let him "sing me to sleep."

Blackbird and his pals are amongst the nice things this season brings.

ok, wait...... what... what happened????? he shut up! it's like he heard me typing and decided to contradict me???? what the.... ?????

Maybe he realized he is early?

ah.... aha... no there he goes again... guess he just had a bit of dry throat or something.

~ waves ~ (for whom i suppose "bedtime is here," too. )
