Depressing tv documentary

Hi,

I watched more than an hour of a 140-minute documentary on PBS tonight.

56 Up
http://www.pbs.org/pov/56up/

The producers have been following and checking in with a group of people every seven years starting in 1964 when they were seven years old. Now they are 56 years old.

(I remember watching the last one seven years ago so I thought I wanted to catch up with the people.)

NOT A GOOD IDEA.
It was depressing to (re-)watch people over their whole lives up to now.
The people were mostly happy and well. They can look on their lives with good perspectives and seem mostly happy.

Still, I was a problem and I am not too sure why.
I think I will not watch the rest.

Hi,

I have been reading about Red Palm oil as an anti-oxidant:

Apparently, one is to find a sustainable brand.

Quote:

With regard to palm oil, using the oil itself at home doesn’t endanger the environment. However, permitting the clearing of thousands of acres of rainforests to make room for palm oil farms does endanger the environment along with the orangutans that live there.

Hence, multiple organizations are finding ways to promote sustainable palm oil production to accommodate a growing global demand without the need to clear more precious forest space. That growing demand comes not only from our supermarkets, but also industries that use palm oil in cosmetics, lubricants, and biofuel.
. . . So I put some Juka's Red Palm Oil (100% Organic & Natural From Africa)in my Amazon cart to buy when I get paid.

I cooked tonight!

Perhaps I have more energy.

During the day today / Wednesday, I seemed to have more energy than I usually do.

After work I stopped to buy material for soup.
Usually, I supervise hubby while he makes soup or dump the ingredients in the kitchen and tell him to make soup, letting him work out the details.

Tonight I shopped for what I needed:
~swiss chard
~kale
~onion
~mushrooms
~baby carrots (no chopping necessary)
~rotisserie chicken

When I got home I found a head of garlic in the fridge.

I gave hubby the chicken for tonight and tomorrow and said I wanted the bones for the soup.
I started the bones boiling in water while I prepared the other ingredients.

I "pre-boiled" the carrots in a large frying pan before adding them to the big pot. I do not know why I did that or if it was necessary. It felt helpful. Dunno why.
I sautéed the garlic and onion separately
I tossed the mushrooms in the frying pan with some oil for texture and dumped them into the boiling water.
Lastly, I cleaned and tore in to appropriate sizes pieces the kale and swiss chard.
Then I added salt and pepper.

For the finishing touch, Hubby squirted a half of a lemon over each bowl of soup. We both enjoyed the soup.

======
I cannot believe I cooked something that involved so much work.

I even cleaned up.  :D
