Hi Steve, Bizi, Marie and my friends. Stopped in to see what the holiday plans for many are and weather effects.
We went on the Bahama cruise the beginning of June and this itinerary is affected by the TS Aurther this week. So sad that when the cruisers got to Cape Canaveral yesterday the downward spiral of weather. There was rain, overcast but by the morning when they get to Norwegians private island of great beach and fun the tenders can not get in and it is pouring. They rerouted to Nassau, the stop for the next day. More rain and bad weather, but the captain has now decided to leave early, tonight so three sea days of miserable weather. I'm not sure if the captain is trying to out run the storm, but if they are not expected in NYC until Saturday, after the storm is expected in NY, why not sit another day in Nassau as was planned and follow it? Oh well, I'm sorry for those vacationers and glad all we had was a bit of overcast days. Which kept it cooler. But, still watching thunderstorms moving our way, nothing yet tonight so hope the heat of the day tomorrow, 90* again will soon break. The Fourth is only to be 78*. Be safe all, Di

You are right about it being very strange. For one, on the nightly news they said it was moving past us at TWO miles per hour. Maybe it could speed up and get out of here. It is expected to turn into a hurricane level 1 by Thursday morning sometime north of us. ===== They sent two different types of planes into it for data. My understanding is that weather forecasting is pretty good about intensity but not good yet about predicting position. The data from the planes will help with position by Wednesday I believe. M |

Di,
The water and skies are fascinating. I hope that the cruise went well. Weather a little cooler is nice. That is a big drop in temperature for the 4th of July. M |

My NOAA alert radio went off and stated that this area is going to have a severe thunderstorm, with possible hail the size of golf balls at 9:05PM. I doubt that we will have hail that size.
I'm going to get ready for this storm. BF ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Wow Steve, keep your eyes peeled. You just never know. The storms moved through her with w tornado touch down to the north. I was driving to a claim and stopped until it passed. The electric was off for many several hours.
Be safe and glad you have the alert radio! Di

Thank you Bizi,Di,and Mari. The lightning wasn't to bad in this area. The system is now moving on out.
When I'm at the computer,I can hear my NOAA radio alert system in the other room giving alerts as they come in. Tonight I heard 3 ringing alerts, one after the other, about thunderstorms moving into the area. I also listen to a couple of other radio's Public Service, and Air Traffic Control that I have on in there. They are running on inside antennas, because I have removed the coax of the outside antennas from the radios for the Summer, and they are secured, and grounded. BF ![]() ![]() ![]() |
